Dr Newman's work sits at the intersection of trauma, mental health and complex systems - where the threat doesn't end at separation, where "high conflict" framing routinely flattens unilateral coercion, and where standard trauma protocols stall. He is also a survivor of domestic abuse and coercive control.
He developed Narrative Regulation Therapy and the CARE framework across two decades of practice. He is the author of the international book 'Get Out Get Love: What everyone should know in, and after, abusive relationships' and a multi-award-winning innovator in digital and clinical health.
Through Project High 5 CIC (the parent of Project5), he founded and led a volunteer NHS-burnout recovery service during the COVID period, training and supervising more than 1,000 coaches and mental-health practitioners and supporting more than 4,000 NHS staff at no cost to the state. He is the founder of ReNurture, the survivor recovery programme (opens renurture.org) - a self-delivered stabilisation and trauma-recovery approach for those experiencing post-separation abuse and trauma. His teaching style is structured, case-led, and explicit about scope: the courses are built to leave practitioners with protocols they can use in their next session, not models they have to translate.

Most trauma therapy starts at stage four. When the threat is still active - through the court, through the children, through the workplace - the work doesn't land. The whole pathway exists to give clinicians the protocols for the rest of the arc.
