If you are in immediate danger Call 999 (UK). For confidential support contact the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247 (24/7, Refuge). This site does not provide crisis services.

1. Educational purpose

The Clear from Control pathway, the screening tool, the CARE framework and the Narrative Regulation Therapy materials are provided for the continuing professional development of practitioners who meet people affected by coercive control in their work: therapists and counsellors, coaches, and family-law professionals such as solicitors, barristers and mediators. They are educational in nature.

2. Not a substitute for professional judgement, supervision, therapy or legal advice

Nothing on this site or in the CPD materials constitutes:

  • Therapy, clinical advice, or diagnosis for any individual.
  • Legal advice - including in relation to family-court proceedings or workplace claims.
  • A substitute for supervision, peer consultation, or the standards and codes of your own professional or regulatory body.

Practitioners using this material remain responsible for their own professional decisions and for working within their scope of practice, training, supervision and professional rules. Coaches who are not trained to work therapeutically should signpost or refer clients who need clinical or specialist support.

3. The screening tool

The masked coercive-control screening tool is an indicator instrument, not a diagnostic test. It is intended only for registered therapists (BACP, UKCP, BPS or HCPC) who have completed the full-day workshop and been approved for access, as an aid to formulation, alongside clinical interview and your usual risk-assessment processes. It does not replace safeguarding, risk-assessment, or referral protocols.

4. For people who are not practitioners

This site is written for practitioners. If you are personally affected by domestic abuse or coercive control, please seek support from your GP, a registered therapist, a domestic abuse specialist service, or - in immediate danger - emergency services.

5. No warranty

The materials are provided on an "as is" basis. ReNurture Ltd makes no warranty that the content is exhaustive, free from error, or applicable to every clinical situation, and excludes all implied warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.

6. Limitation of liability

ReNurture Ltd, Dr Craig Newman and any associated trainers are not liable for clinical, coaching or legal decisions made by practitioners using this material, nor for any outcome arising from such decisions. Liability for the CPD products themselves is limited as set out in the Terms of Use.

7. Reporting concerns

If you have a safeguarding concern about content on this site, or about the conduct of a practitioner using these materials, please contact us at support@renurture.org and follow your organisation's safeguarding pathway.
